IPIG Data Analysis Software deployment at IOCL R&D Centre
In a significant development there is a successful implementation of the product “IPIG Data Analysis Software” deployment at IOCL R&D Centre. Indian Oil Director (R&D) Dr SSV Ramakumar on Sunday launched a new Artificial Intelligence powered Intelligent Pigging Analysis Software on its 60th anniversary. Having our product launch on “Indian Oil day” is a big pride for us. We thank all of you for your support as a partner.
Intelligent Pigging is an inspection technique whereby an inspection probe, often referred to as a "smart" pig, is propelled through a pipeline while gathering important data, such as the presence and location of corrosion or other irregularities on the inner walls of the pipe. On the occasion, the Director presented an overview of the software to Executive Director operations of pipelines division, A K Tiwari.
The software allows to identify the smallest corrosion defects in different sizes of pipelines both for liquid and gas. Our team has used custom AI (Artificial Intelligence) models to make the identification accurate and faster compared to traditional manual analysis. It also allows automated in-depth analysis of critical corrosion anomalies without any human intervention. The system allows processing 10s of iPIG runs together by enabling any pipeline operator to take actions faster. The unique reporting system of MASS allows field teams to use digital reports for accurate verification and correction.
Until now, there were only a handful of players in ILI Pigging, mostly from US, Europe and Russia. We are the only indigenous Indian company with this solution. The future is better and brighter with Alethe’s Make In India technology. The new Intelligent Pigging Analysis Software is based on Alethe Consulting’s MASS platform will reduce the cost of maintaining pipeline integrity for our customers using our technology.
On IOCL day Director R&D launched Artificial Intelligence powered Intelligent Pigging Analysis Software in front of 100s of IOCL members. He also presented a plaque for the software to Executive Director operations of pipelines division. IndianOil also shares its business operations abroad through its overseas establishments in Sri Lanka, Mauritius, the UAE, Singapore, USA, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
IOCL emphasised the importance of innovation in India and better reliance on technology invented by our nation. Proud moment for us as IOCL acknowledged Aleths’s MASS platform as the base on which the innovation was achieved.
