Kerala has introduced an AI-powered cyber safety system, announced by CM Pinarayi Vijayan while unveiling new state police initiatives. He inaugurated 30 newly built police structures across districts, costing Rs 62.61 crore, and laid the foundation for six more. A key highlight was the launch of the Kerala Police’s AI-enabled Security Operations Centre (SOC), designed to secure police systems and critical infrastructure. Developed with C-DOT, the SOC will be overseen by IG Cyber Operations, enhancing digital security.
The initiative aims to enhance cybersecurity measures, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
The Advanced SOC Kerala is equipped with cutting-edge police technology to safeguard sensitive law enforcement databases, communication networks, and surveillance systems from cyber threats. As cyberattacks targeting government systems rise, this initiative strengthens police infrastructure protection by integrating AI-driven threat intelligence and real-time response capabilities.
Expressing concern over the increasing involvement of youth in criminal activities, Chief Minister Pinarayi urged the police to conduct a scientific study to analyze this rising trend and implement effective measures to curb it. He emphasized the need for data-driven strategies to address the issue and ensure a safer society.
During the event, the Chief Minister also presented the prestigious Chief Minister’s Trophy to the best-performing police stations. The function was attended by MLA Antony Raju, state police chief Shaikh Darvesh Sahib, and additional director generals of police (ADGPs) Manoj Abraham, H Venkatesh, and S Sreejith.
