LinkedIn introduces new tools
2022-08-13Professional networking platform LinkedIn has announced that it is rolling out new tools to make it easier for users to create visual content that helps them stand out and inspire their professional community.
Among the new tools, the company said users can now add a clickable link to images or videos. Creators can use the new feature to link to their most recent newsletters or their personal websites. Tap the “Add a link” icon after creating a new post on mobile with an image or video.
In the coming weeks, creators on LinkedIn will be able to add a clickable link directly onto their images and videos to drive traffic to their websites or other resources, regardless of whether they’re on or off LinkedIn.
The company is also launching a new Templates feature that is designed to help creators ensure that their text posts will stand out in users’ feeds. Users can also create quick, eye-catching posts with templates.
Creators will be able to access the new Templates in the coming weeks by going to the share box or tapping “Post” on mobile and then selecting “Use a template.” From there, creators can choose from numerous customizable backgrounds and fonts, add their own text and hit “Share.” They can even add a clickable link onto templates. The feature will be rolling out over the coming weeks.
The platform said it has also started rolling out carousels, a new content format that allows users to mix images and videos to help their community learn in a digestible way. Carousels can help users share content in a visually engaging, swipeable format, from step-by-step advice, to tips and tricks and industry trends.
