In a major boost to enterprise AI accessibility, Microsoft and xAI have announced the availability of Grok 3 within Azure AI Foundry Models. This collaboration integrates xAI’s cutting-edge language models with Azure’s secure and scalable infrastructure, giving developers seamless access to Grok 3’s powerful capabilities in reasoning, coding, and visual processing.
Grok 3 Now Live in Azure AI Foundry
Starting May 19, Grok 3—xAI’s flagship model—is available in a free preview for two weeks on Azure AI Foundry Models. It is also accessible through GitHub Models, allowing developers to explore its capabilities across platforms.
Azure AI Foundry serves as a central hub for a broad catalog of models from Microsoft and partners including OpenAI, Meta, Hugging Face, NVIDIA, and more. The addition of Grok 3 reinforces Microsoft’s commitment to supporting a diverse and open AI ecosystem by offering developers multiple foundational models to choose from.
Grok is a family of large language models developed by xAI, designed to advance artificial intelligence and scientific discovery. Grok 3 is the most advanced version yet, trained on xAI’s Colossus supercluster using ten times more compute than previous leading models. It excels in complex reasoning, mathematics, programming, and instruction-following tasks.
Key Features of Grok 3:
Deep Domain Expertise: Designed to support enterprise-grade tasks in sectors such as finance, healthcare, legal, and scientific research.
Extended Context Length: Can process up to 131,000 tokens in a single pass—ideal for large documents and complex workflows.
Structured Outputs: Supports output in structured formats like JSON, simplifying automation and integration.
Tool & Function Support: Like other models on Azure, Grok 3 supports external tools for building agentic workflows.
Grok 3 is available at no cost in Azure AI Foundry Models starting May 19, as part of a limited-time free preview through early June. This window allows developers and businesses to evaluate Grok 3’s performance and potential in real-world applications. With this launch, Microsoft and xAI are not only expanding the capabilities of the Azure AI ecosystem but also making advanced AI tools more accessible for businesses worldwide.
