Microsoft Outlook is currently experiencing a widespread outage, leaving users unable to log into their accounts across multiple platforms including Outlook.com, Outlook Mobile, and the Outlook desktop app.
According to Microsoft’s official service status page, Outlook users may be “unable to access their mailbox using any connection methods,” indicating that the issue is affecting both personal and enterprise accounts globally. The outage began early Thursday morning, with a surge in reports starting around 5:00 a.m. ET, according to DownDetector, a site that monitors service disruptions.
Affected regions include the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and potentially other countries, although Microsoft has not confirmed the full extent of the disruption.

In its latest update, Microsoft acknowledged the issue and said it is “continuing to apply configuration changes to fix the underlying problem and completing additional validation efforts to ensure authentication components are properly configured.” However, as of now, no estimated time for resolution has been provided.
The Outlook crash is particularly disruptive for businesses and professionals who rely on the platform for daily communication, calendar scheduling, and task management. Users have taken to social media to express frustration, sharing screenshots of error messages and inability to access vital emails.
This is not the first time Microsoft has faced major service disruptions, but the timing and global scale of this outage have raised concerns about the reliability of Microsoft’s cloud-based services, especially for enterprise users.
Microsoft has advised users to stay tuned to the Service Health Dashboard for real-time updates and expects to provide more clarity as investigation and recovery efforts progress. For now, users are urged to use alternative communication channels as Microsoft works to restore full Outlook functionality.
