Motorola’s latest premium foldable smartphone combines AI-driven imaging, flagship performance, advanced multitasking features, and luxury-inspired design as the company strengthens its push into India’s growing foldable smartphone market.
Motorola has launched the motorola razr fold in India, introducing its latest premium foldable smartphone aimed at users seeking advanced AI features, professional-grade photography, immersive entertainment, and productivity-focused multitasking capabilities.
The launch marks Motorola’s aggressive push into the premium foldable segment, where smartphone brands are increasingly competing through artificial intelligence integration, innovative display technology, and ecosystem-based experiences.
The motorola razr fold features a large 8.1-inch 2K Extreme AMOLED main display alongside a 6.6-inch AMOLED external display designed to offer full smartphone functionality even when the device is folded. The external panel supports a 165Hz LTPO refresh rate, enabling smoother animations, responsive gaming, and fluid navigation experiences.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, the smartphone comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. Motorola has also integrated moto ai 2.0, its latest AI platform offering contextual assistance, AI-generated content tools, productivity suggestions, and system optimisation features.
Motorola focuses on AI imaging and premium hardware
A major highlight of the razr fold is its advanced camera setup, which Motorola describes as the world’s only triple 50MP pro-grade foldable camera system. The device includes Sony LYTIA sensors supported by AI-powered imaging enhancements designed to improve colour accuracy, dynamic range, motion clarity, and low-light performance.
The smartphone supports 8K Dolby Vision video recording and 4K Dolby Vision recording at up to 60fps across all camera lenses. AI-powered camera features include adaptive stabilisation, dynamic bokeh, advanced zoom processing, and automated image enhancement tools.
Motorola said the camera system has also received a DXOMARK Gold Label for imaging performance.
Apart from imaging, the company has focused heavily on design and durability. The razr fold features an ultra-thin 4.6mm unfolded profile with aircraft-grade hinge engineering and titanium reinforcement aimed at improving long-term structural stability. The device also includes Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protection and IP48/IP49-rated water and dust resistance.
The smartphone is powered by a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting 80W TurboPower charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse charging capabilities for accessories such as earbuds and smartwatches.
AI ecosystem and long-term software support
Motorola has positioned the device as part of a broader AI-powered ecosystem experience. The razr fold runs on Hello UI based on Android 16 and comes with a promise of seven years of Android OS and security updates.
The device includes AI-based features such as AI Image Studio, Recall memory tools, contextual recommendations, smart summaries, and Google Gemini integration for writing, planning, and creative assistance across applications.
Speaking on the launch, T.M. Narasimhan, Managing Director, Motorola India, said, “With the motorola razr fold, we are ushering in a new era for foldables, designed to unlock greater productivity and creativity. It is a device that combines stunning design, pro-grade intelligence, and exceptional craftsmanship to make every interaction truly remarkable. Paired with the moto buds 2 plus, where the brilliance of Sound By Bose meets the acoustic expertise, we are delivering an ecosystem that is as stylish as it is powerful and making it the segment best audio experience.
At Motorola, we have always believed that great technology should feel personal, and this launch is the fullest expression of that belief. We are proud to bring this experience to India, reaffirming our commitment to our consumers and our position as the country's leading AI smartphone brand.”
