Motorola has come up with its first entry-level smartphone of 2025, the Moto G05, continuing its successful G-series with an affordable yet feature-packed device. Priced at Rs 6,999, the Moto G05 promises to be a strong contender in the budget segment, combining premium features with practicality. The phone will be available in a single variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It will go on sale from January 13, 2025, at 12 noon on platforms like Flipkart, Motorola.in, and in retail stores. Buyers will have the option to choose from two attractive colours: Forest Green and Plum Red, both featuring a vegan leather rear panel.
The Moto G05 boasts a large 6.67-inch display with an impressive 1000-nits peak brightness, making it one of the brightest in its segment. The screen has a 90Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and navigation, while Gorilla Glass 3 provides added durability. Motorola also claims the display's adaptive auto mode adjusts the refresh rate from 90Hz to 60Hz, enhancing battery life. In addition, the device features dual stereo speakers with 7x Bass Boost, Dolby Atmos support, and Hi-Res Audio for an immersive audio-visual experience. Its Water Touch Technology ensures that the screen remains responsive even when wet, and the IP52 rating offers added protection from water and dust.
The Moto G05 is the first smartphone in its segment to come preloaded with Android 15, offering enhanced privacy controls, improved security features, and better personalization options. On the photography front, the phone features a 50-megapixel camera with Quad Pixel technology and Night Vision Mode for superior low-light performance. The 8-megapixel front camera, with Face Retouch, ensures high-quality selfies. The device also comes with several camera modes such as Portrait, Time Lapse, and Panorama, alongside editing tools like Magic Unblur and Magic Eraser for improved image quality.
Under the hood, the Moto G05 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor, 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 64GB of UFS2.2 storage. With RAM Boost, users can expand the RAM up to 12GB for better multitasking. The device also supports expandable storage up to 1TB via a microSD card and features a triple SIM card slot for flexibility. The phone is backed by a large 5200mAh battery, offering up to two full days of use on a single charge and supporting 18W fast charging.
