The role of data networks in our daily lives continue to expand and grow. Starting off as an indigenous manufacturer of line drivers and modems, MRO-TEK as a company has emerged as a one stop shop for the range of Networking products & solutions.
Emerging needs such as application convergence, non-stop operation, scalability and IPv6-readiness place new demands on the network. Modem network solutions must be assessed across a wider set of attributes than earlier generation equipment. "To meet such market demands, our strategy is to take care of the customers overall solution. Plus our planning enable us to deliver products on time as we have the manufacturing unit," added J Johnson, VP - Sales, MRO-TEK.
Brocade's chassis-based BigIron family of layer 3 Backbone Switches for the campus, MAN and LAN environments deliver up to 3.84 Terabits per second of backplane switching capacity, dramatically reducing network bottlenecks with wire-speed IP routing. With this capability, the BigIron RX Series scales to support 192 separate 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports in a single 7 foot rack. The entire BigIron family scales to easily handle several hundred non-blocking Gigabit Ethernet ports at a peak performance of up to 1.14 Billion packets per second-delivering greater performance than competitive switches and router at a much lower price.
Their customer base varies from mobile carriers, to Railtel, to TCL, to Banks. "We try to be as close to the customers as possible all the time and help them address their pain areas. This helps you to win customers confidence, which is important in todays time where customer is the king," adds Johnson.
Today, MRO-TEK has reached 400,000 miles of network connectivity. Johnson gives the credit to the company's strong sales support 24x7x365. The support team is geared up with highly skilled engineering staff who ensures all their channels and end-users get the best technical support. Their support centers are spread across 14 locations. Over and above some of their select trained channel also offer support. On the critical networks customers are offered stand-by equipments if required.
"All our products are unique and many times custom made as per the network requirement of the customer (our own R&D enables this)," shares Johnson. Deliverables, people, support, R&D and state-of-the-art manufacturing put together has helped the company to win market share. "MRO-TEK has evolved and grown from revenue of Rs. 0.2 million in 1985 to Rs. 1.29 million."
