How is NComputing doing in the Indian Market?
In a market where IT penetration is constrained by the cost of IT infrastructure, our solution has huge business opportunities. The good thing is that we have been reaping those business opportunities and growing the business at tremendous rate.
We are 100% channel centric organization and our Chanel base and customer base is growing by more than 100% every year.
While our product has universal appeal and relevance for all segments, we are doing large numbers in Education and SMB segment in India. We currently have an install base of 7 lakh units which is being used by over a crore people daily.
How does your solution help the SMBs?
Our solutions offer great value to the SMB customers in terms of lowering the cost of IT infrastructure and simpler and easier deployment. Some of our partners offer “Office in box” solutions powered by NComputing technology which helps the SMBs to set up state of the art yet simple IT infrastructure at much lower cost than the cost required for setting up a traditional PC based IT infrastructure.
Some of our key products that fit in are the M series and L series. NComputing’s 30% business is contributed by the SMB segment.
How do you see the Education segment?
NComputing is now becoming a de-facto computing solution in the Education segment and it provides the company a major source of revenue in India. With our Solutions deployed across all types of educational institutions like schools, colleges, universities, technical and management institutes, this solution is immensely successful in the education segment.
NComputing has been adopted by multiple State Governments for setting up computer labs in the K-12 Schools, besides other state governments are evaluating NComputing technology for their current and upcoming projects. Almost 30,000 educational institutions have NComputing installed to provide computing access to their students. We have many prestigious customers such as Amity University, Narayana Group of Institutions and Symbiosis University in the Private Education space. Many Education Institutions wish to improve the computer student ratio within the available budget and NComputing solutions help them to address the problem very effectively. Majority of Education ISVs are partnering with us to provide comprehensive solution at affordable price points.
Green IT is a big requirement today? How is NComputing equipped with reduction of e-waste?
NComputing is a company which in real provides the greenest computing solution in the world. With an average PC’s electricity consumption being 150 watts, NComputing solution consume as low as 1 watt and 5 watts of power per device or per user. This is significantly the lowest electricity consumption and reducing the carbon emissions to the slightest.
Secondly, our devices are smaller in size and can be last through multiple refresh cycles (minimum 3 to 4), hence the need for replacement is low. For all customers adoption of NComputing solution is one of the significant step towards promoting Green IT.
Throw light on your market strategy and Channel engagement.
We have a strong belief that our products have the potential to address the IT needs of all the segments either fully or partially. Therefore we focus on increasing the breadth of channel partners in order to reach more customers in more segments across many locations. Channel Acquisition and Geographical penetration are two important components of our channel strategy. We continuously strive to increase the number of channel partners who promote NComputing solutions across multiple locations where IT users are located. With over 800+ channel partners across over 120 cities, they are helping us reach even the most interior locations to provide the solution to customers.
We adopt a tiered Channel structure to implement our strategy. We have Redington as the value added national distributor and under them channel partners of all levels. In second level, we have Regional aggregators who are entrusted with the task of acquiring more Channel partners and support them to sell our solutions. We also have Enterprise partners who promote our solutions to key Enterprise accounts. With the advent of Citrix Ready SoC thin-clients , we now have more powerful solution relevant to enterprise sectors and to reach them we are strengthening our engagement with Enterprise partners and System Integrators.
Have you signed any partnerships of late?
Most of the key Solution providers, OEM’s and major IT Players are our partners to implement NComputing solution. A very important and recent partnership is with Citrix, where we as a technology are delivering the richest HDX experience at the most unbelievably affordable cost. This partnership would be a win-win situation for both.
