OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone explodes, severely injures user's thigh

In a shocking incident, the OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone exploded and a boy's thigh was severely burnt in Maharashtra after OnePlus Nord 2 exploded in his jeans pocket, according to Twitter user Suhit Sharma.

As per that report, the phone was purchased two months back from Amazon and the user is now in hospital with second-degree burns. OnePlus has collected the burned unit of the Nord 2 from the user and has issued a full refund along with taking care of the medical expenses.

It is the third such instance of the OnePlus Nord 2 being involved in a sudden explosion. Earlier, a OnePlus Nord 2 exploded in a user's bag and Delhi-based lawyer Gaurav Gulati also alleged that the smartphone exploded in his coat.

This incident was shared on Twitter by Suhit Sharma from Dhule in Maharashtra. The phone looks completely damaged and burnt on the right side along with a soul-searing picture of the injured right thigh of the user.

Responding to the tweet, OnePlus replied, “We take such incidents seriously. Our team has already reached out to the user and we are in the process of collecting the details to investigate this further.”
