PHD Chamber, along with the Department of Information Technology (Government of India), has organized a National Conclave on e-Governance and m-Governance: Challenges and Opportunities. The conference was attended by distinguished speakers from various industries across India. The prime objective of the conclave was to explore effective strategies for social, financial and digital inclusion and transformation in governance through innovation and technology.
N. Ravi Shanker, Adminstrator, USOF, said, If we want to achieve the goal of sustainable development, we need to create an enabling ecosystem and address the issue of connects, connectivity, accessibility in a holistic manner.
He also briefly spoke about the project on “National Optical Network” in partnership with Department of IT and Department of Telecom which will be useful in making people a part of the inclusive growth. He in his address said that m-governance can be a game changer in the future.
Suman Jyoti Khaitan, President, PHD Chamber, said, With the help of Internet and related technology, the government services can be extended to all the geographical segments in the country round the clock, all days in a year. In addition to better and fast monitoring of government tasks, e-governance generates more revenue through online delivery of services.
Around 180 representatives from the industry attended the conclave. It was also emphasized that apart from participation, the know-how to use the system is another important area that demands attention. In order to be the part of influencing the government, e/m governance are the tools from which citizens can richly benefit provided they respond to the advertisements published for their participation.
