Homegrown telecom equipment maker Tejas Networks has received a ₹1,537-crore Letter of Intent (LoI) from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to supply Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment, accessories and installation materials for BSNL’s expanding 4G network. The project will cover 18,685 telecom sites across the country.
The LoI, dated August 27, 2026, represents another significant milestone in BSNL’s indigenous telecom network programme. Tejas Networks said that TCS will issue the detailed purchase order in due course. The two companies already have a master contract covering goods and services for BSNL’s 4G rollout.
The development follows an add-on order received by TCS from BSNL in May 2025 for the supply, deployment and maintenance of 4G infrastructure across the same 18,685 locations. At that time, Tejas estimated its RAN and associated equipment contribution at around ₹1,525.53 crore, excluding taxes.
The broader deployment is being executed by a TCS-led consortium involving Tejas Networks and the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT). Nearly one lakh indigenous 4G RAN sites have already been commissioned for BSNL, marking one of India’s largest deployments of domestically developed telecom technology.
