According to the Indian CCTV/Video Surveillance Market: The Way Ahead, study by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) the Indian CCTV camera market currently stands at about Rs 1,000 crore and accounts for over 40 per cent of the Rs 2,400 crore worth total electronic security market in India.
Another study by Frost & Sullivan states that the video surveillance market in India grew by 24.5% in 2010 and amassed revenues of $135 Mil. However, growing at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 30 %, the video surveillance and closed circuit television (CCTV) camera market in India is likely to reach Rs 2,200 crore by 2015. This accounts to a huge and promising security and surveillance market and Panasonics definitely has a strong foothold in this domain.
Panasonic's Stronghold in Security and Surveillance Space...

With the ever increasing security concerns in major cities, authorities and society at large are searching for better options to make their homes, offices, surrounding area more safe and secure," opines, Prasenjeet.

The latest launch of Panasonic is the WV-CF112 smart look day and night security camera with advanced features like high resolution of 600TV lines, 3 dimensional colour conversion function for natural colour reproduction even in lower colour temperature solution. The camera is suitable for various applications like shopping malls, hotels and hospitals.
"The new surveillance and monitoring systems are available in market at lucrative prices. This new camera out shines the existing security cameras and the specifically designed features make it the best solution for surveillance," says, Prasenjeet.
Presently, Panasonic has around 461 products and accessories in these categories.
Opportunities for Channel...
"In order to deliver the finest of our product and services to our customers we not only empower our partners adequately but also provide them with training time and again so that they can cater to each and every need of the consumers," adds, Prasenjeet
Panasonic does periodic technical trainings for its partners and their sales teams on product and application skill sets so as to keep them updated on technological up gradation in security and surveillance space.
In security and surveillance space Panasonic offers two modes of operations, one is the Normal distribution and the other is the Premium System Integrator category.
Some of the Partners with which Panasonic is associated includes, Godrej & Boyce, Johnson Control India, Avaya Global Connect, Tyco and UTC Chub Alba.
Opportunities in Real Estate...
Rapid economic growth and rising industrial activities amid security threats, fear of potential terrorist attacks has fuelled the demand for CCTV cameras evidently as government authorities and even private sector are investing huge amount of money in installing CCTVs to secure their offices and public places across the country. As retail giants in India are deploying IP surveillance as a solution to capture consumer behaviour and record foot falls and the already discussed security concerns in metros, Panasonic believe that there would be growing preference towards IP and video analytics technologies and their acceptance among real estate players will increase.

Prasenjeet further reveals that there are umpteen opportunities in India but few of its main areas would be Oil & Energy industries, Central and Local Government establishments, hotels, 5 star hospitals and city surveillance we aim to grow.
