NSE said the exchange has received communication from telecom service providers that there are issues with their links due to which there was an impact on its system. Stock trading in all segments on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has been halted following a technical glitch.
NSE closed the F&O market at 11:40 am and the cash market at 11:43 am. "We have received communication from [our] telecom service providers that there are issues with their links due to which there's an impact on NSE system," NSE tweeted.
At the same time, BSE in a tweet said it continued to have normal trading in all segments today. "NSE has multiple telecom links with two service providers to ensure redundancy and we have received communication from both the telecom service providers that there are issues with their links due to which there is an impact on NSE system. We are working on restoring the systems as soon as possible. In view of the above all the segments have been closed at 11.40 and will be restored as soon as issue is resolved," an NSE spokesperson said.
Stocks of major lenders like HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank were among the top gainers while TCS, Sun Pharmaceuticals and Maruti Suzuki were losing the most.
