Twitter's Jack Dorcy stepped down from Disney
Jack Dorcy, CEO of Twitter had stepped down and won't seek re-election at the company's meeting next month as Twitter has forays into video. Dorsey’s firm announced video streaming partnerships in May with 16 media companies, including some Disney competitors. Twitter also has a partnership with Bloomberg LP.
Dorsey's company announced last year video streaming partnerships with 16 media companies, which included some of Disney's competitors. The company also has a partnership with the NFL to air a 30-minute live show during the football season. This is a big deal to Disney, who owns ESPN.
However, Disney is moving heavily into online delivery of its TV shows and movies as viewers abandon traditional cable, and at one point had explored an acquisition of Twitter. At the same time, Twitter and is trying trying to attract audiences to video content on their platforms.
