Users reported Zomato outage
The servers of food aggregator Zomato were reported to be down yesterday, as users claimed they were unable to place orders online. The outage was reported from multiple locations across India.
Customers took to social media to express their resentment as some are not able to order food. The company has not given any statement yet. “We’re currently not accepting orders online. We’ll be back soon,” read the screenshot from the Zomato app, shared by several users on the internet.
Out of the total user complaints, 95 percent were related to the company’s app. Weeks back, similar reports of an outage was reported in Delhi. A company spokesperson had then cited bad weather for the inconvenience caused to the customers.
Zomato dominates the food delivery market in India. The company has an order volume of around 500 million, and expects to cross the 1.6 billion-mark by 2026. It is updating the upper limit of its potential investments in the food delivery category to $400 million cash over the next two years.
