Vivo has expanded its budget smartphone segment in India with the launch of the Vivo Y19 5G. Targeted at cost-conscious consumers seeking 5G connectivity and dependable performance, the new handset combines essential modern features with a competitive price tag.
Design and specs
The Vivo Y19 5G sports a 6.74-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, designed to offer a smooth viewing experience for everyday use. The screen includes a waterdrop notch and TÜV Rheinland certification to limit blue light exposure, aiming to reduce eye fatigue during prolonged usage.
Aesthetically, the device features a metallic matte frame and comes with what Vivo calls a Rainbow Crystal Texture finish. It also boasts IP64 certification for dust and water resistance, and has passed the SGS Five-Star Drop Test, indicating enhanced durability for regular use.
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, the smartphone runs on Android 15 layered with Vivo's custom FunTouch OS 15. It is available in three memory configurations—4GB RAM with 64GB storage, 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. Users can expand the internal storage via a microSD card.
Cameras and battery
In terms of optics, the Y19 5G is equipped with a 13MP rear camera powered by artificial intelligence to enhance image quality. The rear setup supports multiple shooting modes including Night, Portrait, and Pro. On the front, the smartphone houses a 5MP selfie camera, also enhanced with AI features for clearer photos in varied lighting conditions.
A sizable 5,500mAh battery supports the device, paired with 15W charging via Vivo’s Smart Charging Engine 2.0, which the company claims improves charging efficiency and battery longevity.
Prices and availability
Available in Titanium Silver and Majestic Green, the Vivo Y19 5G is priced at ₹10,499 for the base variant. The mid-tier and top-end variants are priced at ₹11,499 and ₹12,999, respectively. The smartphone is now available for purchase through Flipkart, Vivo’s official website, and offline retail outlets across India. Flexible EMI options are also being offered to buyers.
