Vodafone Idea network is 5G ready
2020-10-02Vodafone Idea said that it will be launching 5G whenever spectrum is made available through auction. It has upgraded its 4G network with 5G architecture and other technologies like dynamic spectrum refarming (DSR) and massive MIMO to make it 5G-ready. However, there is a need to develop India 5G use cases. India is unique and some global use cases might not be relevant," Vodafone Idea MD and CEO Ravinder Takkar said during the AGM meeting.
Takkar said the launch of new single brand identity Vi would help the company to effectively communicate its value proposition to subscribers and expand customer base. " We have integrated our brand and that has been well received.
The intention is to promote the brand strongly which will allow our customers to understand the proposition we offer and the quality of network we offer," Takkar said in response to a shareholder queries at the company's annual general meeting today.
Takkar further said, the expansion of 4G coverage and data will be the focus areas for the company. He said the company's 4G coverage increased from 50 per cent to 82 per cent in two years and the company plans to increase to 90 per cent in a few key circles.
