Telecom secretary Anshu Prakash Tuesday said in the India mobile Congress over the virtual platform, industry should build innovation-backed intelligent products with security encompassing telecom networks and data communications.
The three-day event, he said, would provide a platform to showcase technology and innovation. We want intelligent products, and security is all encompassing whether it is network, data or all communications, and all must be sustainable and environment-friendly, Prakash said.
India's telecom sector, in the efforts of enabling policies including more quantum of the spectrum, is set to establish new benchmarks in the next-generation network deployments and service delivery.
The secretary telecom said that in an ambition to bridge the digital divide, the difference between haves and have nots, rich and poor, rural and urban areas, should be shrinked.
"Emphasis should be on leveraging technology for new products, new processes, giving consumers value for money, ease of living and ease of doing business," the official added.
The telecom sector, according to him, provides backbone for digital communications, and it is a sector which would shape the country's future whether its industry 4.0, Internet of Things, machine-to-machine communications, robotics, artificial intelligence, or augmented reality, all such applications and technology would ride on a telecom platform.
Our telecom networks did not fail us even for a day. The massive data consumption surge accommodated quite easily and all stakeholders deserve full praise of this success," says the telco secretary.
