Private messaging app WhatsApp is working on a new security feature to prevent hacks and data breaches and further boost safety provisions for its users. The feature is called Login Approval and is designed for multi-device users which is expected to build on the company’s two-step verification system.
This new feature will allow users to receive notifications when a user logs in to their WhatsApp account from a different device. According to WABetaInfo, the company is currently testing a beta version of its latest software. It is believed that the new Login Approval feature will be part of a future update.
This new feature will also help prevent WhatsApp accounts from being stolen. The feature will provide an additional layer of security on the instant messaging platform and help accounts from being stolen.
WhatsApp already has a two-step verification system that is designed to help prevent unauthorized access to a user’s account. The new feature is suitable for multi-device users and is reportedly built on this system to protect users if they have already shared the security code.
The company is also working on a feature that would enable the user to see previous participants in a particular group, but it is currently only working on this feature for iOS and it will be initially rolled out for iPhone users.
