As Microsoft tries to push users to the latest Windows 11 operating system, it has not been adding any new features to Windows 10. However, despite this the tech giant is bringing the Microsoft Copilot AI to Windows 10. Microsoft Copilot is the company’s LLM AI based on ChatGPT’s technology. Previously referred to as “Bing Chat”, the company recently rebranded it to Microsoft Copilot.
The AI is being built into the Windows 11 operating system and other Microsoft products as Microsoft looks to secure itself as a top competitor in the AI industry. It is trying to give users access to deeper search results than your typical search engines. This is the closest thing they will find to a personal assistant beyond when it comes to general questions or support, and various tools for automated content creation.
This makes for an interesting move as it gives Windows 10 users one less reason to want to make the change to Windows 11. But it does seem Microsoft is a bit desperate to get people to adopt the AI, thus rolling out this one exception.
Currently, it is rolling out to Windows 10 (version 22H2) Home and Pro editions as a Windows Insider preview and will continue to roll out to the general public in the near future.
