In order to create secure and high-performing end-to-end desktop virtualization solutions for organizations using Citrix, Microsoft and VMware’s software, Dell(NASDAQ:DELL) has announced the addition of Dell Wyse ThinOS 8 firmware and the Dell Wyse D10D thin client to its Cloud Client Computing portfolio.
Steve Lalla, Executive Director of Marketing & Chief Strategy Officer, Dell Cloud Client Computing, said, “Dell is committed to empowering enterprises of any size with the most secure, manageable and turnkey virtual desktop solutions possible. With the combination of the Dell Wyse D10D and ThinOS 8, we are delivering our customers great value for their IT investments. These solutions allow customers to address security challenges with a cost-effective, high-performing VDI solution so they can focus on growing their businesses.”
Dell Wyse designed ThinOS 8 firmware as well as the D10D thin client to secure the virtual desktop solutions against the increasing enterprise security threats. The addition of ThinOS 8 also lowers the cost of ownership of endpoint devices helping organizations optimize their IT investments.
D10D when paired with ThinOS will give customers a high-performing hardware solution combined with secure firmware. Users can enjoy an instant-on experience and are able to access their desktop in seconds. These cloud-based deployments enable admin to remain in control regardless of the thin client location.
The Dell Wyse ThinOS 8 firmware upgrade is available for several existing Dell Wyse thin client models. The D10D thin client solution will be available worldwide from June 21 at $399.
