2025-08-19
The University of Delhi (DU), one of India’s most prestigious public universities, has announced a strategic multi-year collaboration with Google Cloud to transform higher education and prepare students for future-ready careers in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, and digital literacy. This partnership marks a significant milestone in redefining how technology and education converge in India.
The collaboration between Delhi University and Google Cloud India is designed to provide students with access to cutting-edge educational resources, industry mentorship, hands-on labs, and globally recognized certifications. The program will also offer specialized curriculum tracks in AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and generative AI (GenAI) to ensure students graduate with industry-leading expertise.
Students will gain access to Google Cloud’s NotebookLM, an AI-powered personal study assistant, helping them analyze coursework, extract insights, and enhance research capabilities. In addition, Google Workspace for Education will be integrated across DU’s campuses to streamline collaboration, digital learning, and productivity.

Hands-On Learning and Startup Support
The initiative goes beyond traditional academics by introducing in-campus hackathons, webinars, and incubation support for student-led startups. Students will benefit from mentorship, technical guidance, and the opportunity to earn Google Cloud certifications that are highly valued in the global job market. Startups emerging from DU will also have access to cloud credits and technical support, enabling them to innovate and scale faster.
Sashi Sreedharan, Managing Director of Google Cloud India, said, “Our collaboration with the University of Delhi is a pivotal step in shaping an AI-driven academic ecosystem in India. Technology is a powerful equalizer, and through this partnership, we aim to democratize access to quality education and equip India’s next-generation talent with practical, industry-ready digital skills.”
Prof. Sanjeev Singh, Dean of the Faculty of Technology at DU, added, “Students will benefit immensely from Google Cloud’s AI-powered tools like NotebookLM and industry-led mentorship. This initiative will also foster a culture of innovation by supporting national-level hackathons, internships, and early-stage student startups.”
As part of the partnership, Google Cloud will serve as a Knowledge Partner, offering curriculum development support in emerging fields, faculty training programs, and career development pathways. Students will be able to earn industry-recognized skill badges in AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science, and generative AI—boosting their employability in global tech markets.
This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that DU graduates are not only academically strong but also career-ready digital innovators. By combining Google Cloud’s technology ecosystem with DU’s vibrant student community, the initiative is set to empower thousands of students and position India as a global leader in the digital economy.
