As it marks 100 years, the diversified conglomerate is adopting Google Workspace and Google Cloud technologies to modernise operations, strengthen security and embed responsible AI across textiles, apparel, retail, real estate and engineering units.
The Raymond Group has announced an organisation-wide partnership with Google Cloud to accelerate its digital transformation journey across its key business verticals, including textiles, apparel, retail, real estate and engineering. The move comes as the company celebrates its centenary year and looks to embed artificial intelligence more deeply into its operations and workforce.
Under the partnership, Raymond is adopting Google Workspace Enterprise across its organisation, covering over 8,000 users. The deployment is aimed at modernising collaboration, enhancing productivity and ensuring enterprise-grade security and privacy standards aligned with those used internally by Google.
Strengthening collaboration and responsible AI adoption
Commenting on the collaboration, Sumedha Chakraborthy, Head of Google Workspace, India & South Asia, said the partnership reflects how AI-led innovation can create impact across traditional sectors. She noted that by adopting Google Cloud’s secure, AI-powered collaboration tools, Raymond is driving “new levels of efficiency and intelligence across every layer of its operations,” while progressing toward becoming an AI-first enterprise.
Ravi Hudda, Group CDIO at Raymond Group, said the decision to roll out Google Workspace enterprise-wide was driven by three priorities: strengthening security and governance, embedding responsible AI into everyday tools used by employees, and enabling real-time collaboration across diverse business units. “As we look to power the next century of Raymond’s growth, we’re breaking down silos, re-imagining collaboration and scaling intelligence,” he said.
Building an AI-first digital backbone
Beyond productivity tools, Raymond is also deepening its use of Google Cloud infrastructure. The company already runs its SAP RISE environment on Google Cloud and is now evaluating Vertex AI to democratise AI capabilities across workflows. The objective is to make AI accessible and impactful across business use cases, reinforcing Raymond’s ambition to evolve into a truly AI-first enterprise.
Searce is supporting the transformation as Raymond’s consulting and implementation partner. The firm has guided the phased migration by addressing security, compliance, cost optimisation and user experience considerations across multiple stakeholder groups. Through the deployment of Google Workspace, Raymond has been able to retire legacy systems, strengthen governance frameworks and equip thousands of employees with modern, AI-driven productivity tools.
