AKAI’s new Direct Cool refrigerators combine nature-inspired Violet Leaf and Golden Flower designs with flexible cooling, smart storage, toughened glass shelves and stabilizer-free operation for modern Indian kitchens.
Japanese home appliances brand AKAI has launched a new range of nature-inspired Direct Cool refrigerators in India, combining decorative glass finishes with features aimed at everyday convenience.
The new 190-litre single-door refrigerators are available in two variants — Violet Leaf and Golden Flower. Designed for contemporary Indian homes, the compact models focus on both aesthetics and functionality, with glass-finish doors intended to complement modern kitchen interiors.
Nature-inspired designs
The Violet Leaf variant features violet leaves against a black backdrop, along with water-droplet detailing inspired by nature and changing seasons. The Golden Flower model combines floral patterns with gold accents on a black base, creating a more premium visual appeal.
AKAI said the reflective glass surface not only enhances the appearance of the refrigerators but also makes the exterior easier to clean.
“Our products are built to reflect the aesthetic sense of today’s Indian family. Elegant in design as well as equipped with robust features, our new AKAI refrigerator range is inspired by the concept of creativity embedded across daily lifestyle,” said Anurag Sharma, MD & CEO, AKAI India. “As with all our product lines, here too we have followed the Mottainai philosophy offering value without compromising on visual appeal seamlessly merging in modern interiors,” he further added.
Cooling and storage features
The new AKAI refrigerators feature a Deep Fresh Zone and an anti-bacterial locking mechanism designed to maintain suitable temperatures and help keep stored fruits and vegetables fresh. A removable anti-bacterial gasket is also included to help limit contamination.
The refrigerators offer three temperature settings, allowing users to adjust cooling according to their requirements. AKAI said the feature is designed to accommodate different seasonal conditions, including summer, monsoon and winter.
For storage, the models include a 12-litre vegetable compartment aimed at accommodating larger grocery quantities. A dedicated Large Aqua Space is designed to hold multiple heavy beverage bottles.
The refrigerators also feature toughened glass shelves that can support heavy utensils and containers. Their adjustable configuration allows users to modify the internal storage layout based on their requirements.
Designed for easy maintenance
For everyday maintenance, the refrigerators come with a manual defrosting system and a Clean Back design intended to provide additional protection and safety. Stabilizer-free operation allows the units to function during voltage fluctuations without requiring a separate external stabilizer.
An energy-efficient LED light illuminates the refrigerator interior, helping users view stored items more easily.
AKAI said the refrigerators consume 197.2 units of electricity annually. The models come with a 10-year compressor warranty and a one-year comprehensive warranty.
The AKAI Direct Cool Glass Finish refrigerators are available at an introductory price of ₹18,190 through the AKAI India official website, select third-party online stores and authorised offline retailers.
