Bellatrix Aerospace has secured $20 million in a pre-Series B funding round led by Cactus Partners, as the Bengaluru-based startup looks to expand production of its satellite propulsion systems amid rising global demand.
The company said the fresh capital will be used to scale manufacturing capacity and accelerate delivery capabilities, particularly to support the growing number of satellite constellations being deployed in India and international markets.
Chief executive Rohan Ganapathy said the investment will enable a significant increase in annual production, positioning the company to better meet demand from commercial and government space programs.
Founded in 2015, Bellatrix Aerospace specializes in advanced propulsion technologies for satellites and has established a presence in both India and the United States. Its systems are designed to improve efficiency and maneuverability for satellites operating in increasingly crowded orbits.
The funding round attracted a mix of new and existing investors. New participants include Hero Investment Office, 35 North Ventures, Indusbridge Ventures and Monarch Holdings, while existing backers such as Inflexor Ventures, Pavestone, GrowX Ventures and Survam Partners also participated.
The fundraising comes at a time when India’s space sector is undergoing rapid transformation. The government has opened the industry to private players beyond the traditional dominance of Indian Space Research Organisation and has launched a ₹10 billion fund to support space startups.
With increasing demand for satellite-based services and the expansion of private space initiatives, Bellatrix is aiming to strengthen its position as a key supplier of propulsion systems in both domestic and global markets.
