Cognizant sets up AI Lab and Moment Studio in Bengaluru to push enterprise AI

Cognizant has announced two major additions to its global innovation network with the opening of its India Artificial Intelligence Lab and a new Cognizant Moment Studio in Bengaluru. The move strengthens the company’s broader AI builder strategy. The Bengaluru facility builds on Cognizant’s existing AI Lab in San Francisco, recognized for its patent activity and research output. The India expansion is part of the firm’s three-year USD 1 billion generative AI investment announced in 2023.

The India AI Lab will work on multi-agent systems, scalable decisioning models, and responsible AI frameworks. It will house PhD-level researchers and engineers who will explore new methods for enterprise-grade AI, including reusable components and proprietary software frameworks.

According to Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, the company plays a key role as an “AI builder,” bringing together platforms, partners, and talent to connect infrastructure investments with real business gains. He added that pairing multi-agent architectures with human-centered design will be vital as enterprises enter the next phase of AI adoption.

Alongside the AI Lab, the Cognizant Moment Studio will help clients rethink digital experiences with the aid of AI. The studio blends engineering and creative work, aiming to produce interfaces and applications that feel more intuitive for enterprise users.
