Genrobotics, a leader in advanced robotics and AI technology, was honoured with the prestigious NASSCOM Emerge 50 Award for its deep-tech innovation, G-Gaiter, an AI-based robotic gait trainer, at the NASSCOM Future Forge 2024 event held at the Taj West End Hotel here.
The award was presented in the presence of Shri Priyank Kharge, Minister for Electronics, IT/BT, and Rural Development and Panchayat, Government of Karnataka, and Rajesh Nambiar, President of NASSCOM. The groundbreaking innovation, G-Gaiter, is a leading gait training expert utilizing advanced GPLOT technology in exoskeleton-based gait rehabilitation for patients with walking disabilities due to stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and more.
The NASSCOM Emerge 50 Award is a much-coveted recognition, celebrating the most innovative startups shaping India’s tech landscape. Genrobotics’ G Gaiter stood out for its technological advancement in the healthcare sector, specifically addressing the critical need for gait rehabilitation in India.
With the country witnessing over 1.8 million stroke cases annually, and stroke-related disabilities being a leading cause of mobility issues, along with the growing incidence of spinal cord injuries and other neurological conditions, the demand for effective rehabilitation solutions has never been greater. G-Gaiter leverages Robotics, AI, and Virtual Reality (VR) to offer an innovative solution, enhancing recovery for patients and improving their quality of life.
“Over the past two years, with G Gaiter, we've been on a mission to close the gap in gait training, using advanced robotics and AI to create a better rehabilitation experience for patients,” Mr. Afsal shared. “What’s been truly rewarding is seeing the difference we’ve made—over 2 million robotic-assisted steps in this time. Our work in Kerala has really resonated, with hospitals in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Tamil Nadu now reaching out to bring G Gaiter on board, so they too can offer improved patient care and support in their PMR departments.”
G Gaiter Robotic Gait Trainer has been particularly impactful in institutions such as Amrita Hospital, Aster Group, KIMSHEALTH, SP Fort Hospitals, Thanal Brain and Spine Medcity and General Hospital Trivandrum, where it has already been successfully implemented, gaining the trust of healthcare professionals and gait experts. Doctors and rehabilitation specialists who have incorporated the G-Gaiter into their PMR have reported efficiency in rehabilitation process, improved patient outcomes, and enhanced precision in gait analysis.
Genrobotics is renowned for its dedication to solving real-world problems with transformative technology. The company’s mission is to leverage Robotics and AI to enhance human capabilities across industries, from healthcare to defense sector. With a robust portfolio of innovative products, it continues to demonstrate its commitment to developing meaningful, result-driven solutions to some of the most critical challenges facing the humankind.
