The surge highlights a deliberate shift toward India as a core talent and innovation base. With increased scrutiny, caps, and uncertainty around US work visas, Big Tech firms are localising roles that were once US-centric. Hiring has been strongest across high-value functions such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, product development, data science, and trust and safety operations.
India’s large STEM-skilled workforce, cost competitiveness, and rapidly maturing digital ecosystem have made it a preferred alternative. Cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and Gurugram have emerged as major hiring hubs, while India’s role as a base for global capability centres (GCCs) continues to expand.
Beyond core engineering, companies are also strengthening teams in content moderation, enterprise sales, and global customer experience. Analysts say the trend signals a structural shift: India is no longer just a back-office destination, but a central engine powering global innovation, platforms, and digital growth for Big Tech.
