In a strong message of patriotism, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has announced a complete boycott of trade and business relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan. This comes after both countries openly supported Pakistan during a sensitive time for India’s national security.
At a national conference held in Delhi on May 15, over 125 trade leaders from 24 states came together to make this decision. They said Turkey and Azerbaijan’s actions show disrespect to India, especially since India has helped them in the past during times of crisis.
CAIT General Secretary and BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal called their support for Pakistan—known for harboring terrorism—a direct attack on India’s sovereignty and the sentiments of 1.4 billion Indians.

He said, "It is extremely unfortunate that Turkey and Azerbaijan, who have benefitted from India's goodwill, assistance, and strategic support, are now supporting Pakistan – a country known globally for supporting terrorism. Their stance is a direct assault on India's sovereignty and national interests and an insult to the sentiments of 1.4 billion Indians."

● No imports, exports, or business deals with either country
● No promotion of Turkey or Azerbaijan in travel and tourism
● Appeal to Bollywood not to shoot films in those countries
● Request to the Indian government to review business ties
The traders also praised the government’s move to cancel security clearance for Turkish company Celebi Ground Handling at major Indian airports.
CAIT President BC Bhartia said that countries acting against India should not benefit from Indian markets. A nationwide awareness campaign will now be launched to inform traders and the public.
Recently, CAIT has urged a nationwide ban on selling Pakistani flags and merchandise on Indian e-commerce platforms, especially after such items were found on Amazon India. In a letter to Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, they shared concern that these listings hurt national sentiments and undermine India’s interests amid ongoing tensions with Pakistan.
Khandelwal concluded, “We stand with India. Our response will be peaceful—but powerful: economic boycott.”
