A recent survey highlights a growing disconnect between confidence in cyber resilience and actual preparedness among Indian organizations. While 97% of Indian IT leaders believe their cyber resilience measures are effective, 67% admit that budgets are insufficient to address evolving threats. Additionally, only 53% have updated their strategies to counter AI-driven cyberattacks, raising concerns about India’s ability to combat modern threats.
Despite cyber resilience being a top priority for 57% of Indian IT leaders—well above the global average of 39%—funding and execution remain inadequate. Alarmingly, 70% of organizations do not involve CISOs in resilience planning, leading to fragmented security strategies. According to Zscaler CEO Jay Chaudhry, outdated firewalls and VPNs expose organizations to persistent threats, making a Zero Trust architecture essential for modern cybersecurity.
While 94% of Indian IT leaders recognize the benefits of cloud security, many still rely on legacy systems. Additionally, only 43% use risk-hunting strategies, and fewer than half implement proactive security measures like Zero Trust micro-segmentation (45%) or deception technologies (39%).
With GenAI-driven cyber threats rising and new regulations like the DPDP Act demanding stronger data protection, businesses must shift from reactive security to AI-powered, proactive risk management. By embedding Zero Trust principles, organizations can enhance resilience, ensure compliance, and safeguard long-term digital growth.
