London-based consumer technology brand Nothing, co-founded by Carl Pei and Akis Evangelidis, has announced plans to open its first flagship retail store in India later this year. The move underscores India’s growing importance in the global tech ecosystem, as Nothing deepens its commitment to manufacturing, innovation, and local talent development.
Co-founder Akis Evangelidis shared the update on X (formerly Twitter) after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Economic Times WLF 2025. Evangelidis emphasized that Nothing Phone (3) is not only manufactured in India but also exported worldwide, highlighting the country’s rising role in delivering world-class smartphones and consumer technology.
In addition, CMF by Nothing, the company’s sub-brand known for its affordable wearables and accessories, is setting up its global headquarters in India. The brand is also expanding its leadership team by hiring local talent to strengthen its regional and global operations.
The upcoming Nothing flagship store in India is expected to replicate the premium retail experience offered by global tech giants like Apple and Samsung, giving Indian consumers direct access to Nothing’s latest devices, smartphones, earbuds, and wearables.
Calling India a global technology hub, Evangelidis said, “The story of the next decade of consumer technology is being written here, and we’re excited to be part of it.”
With this expansion, Nothing aims to position India as a cornerstone of its global strategy, combining manufacturing excellence, consumer engagement, and innovation to fuel its long-term growth.
