Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra are likely to merge in the next few quarters. According to a top Tech Mahindra official, the respective boards of directors will, however, take the final call.
Amitava Roy, COO, Tech Mahindra said, "The merger is likely to take place within the next few quarters. The board will take a final call on the time. It is only a matter of time before the merger takes place. There will be no overlapping of services between Tech Mahindra and Satyam. The company is also open to overseas acquisitions, particularly in Latin America. However, no decisions have been taken so far on the budget to fund them and a timeline for these acquisitions to materialise. The company has identified some of high growth areas that include BPO services and infrastructure and network management. Intellectual property rights are also an area of focus that will generate additional revenues in the coming years."
