Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced the acquisition of US-based Coastal Cloud, a leading Salesforce consulting firm, in an all-cash deal valued at $700 million. The move marks a significant step in TCS’s strategy to deepen its Salesforce ecosystem capabilities and accelerate AI-driven digital transformation for global clients.
Founded in 2012, Coastal Cloud is a prominent Salesforce Summit Partner known for delivering enterprise-scale, multi-cloud Salesforce implementations. The firm advises organisations across sales, service, marketing, commerce, revenue management, and data platforms, helping businesses modernise customer engagement and operations.
Strengthening Salesforce and AI-led consulting capabilities
With this acquisition, TCS adds more than 400 experienced professionals to its workforce, along with over 3,000 Salesforce multi-cloud certifications. Coastal Cloud’s expertise in AI-led advisory and business consulting is expected to complement TCS’s existing strengths across industries such as retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services.
Coastal Cloud has built strong relationships within the Salesforce ecosystem and has been represented on the Salesforce Partner Advisory Board, contributing to product direction and service innovation. The company is led by Eric Berridge, a long-time Salesforce executive known for scaling consulting businesses. Salesforce Ventures has also previously invested in Coastal Cloud, underscoring its strategic relevance within the platform’s partner network.
Expanding global reach and market presence
The deal follows TCS’s earlier acquisition of ListEngage, another Salesforce Summit Partner, reinforcing its ambition to become a global leader in Salesforce advisory and consulting. Together, the acquisitions enhance TCS’s access to mid-market customers while creating opportunities to cross-sell services across both firms’ client bases.
TCS Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian said the acquisition supports the company’s goal of becoming a leading AI-led technology services provider, adding deep industry expertise and strengthening data and AI offerings within its Salesforce practice.
With Coastal Cloud joining its portfolio, TCS now ranks among the world’s top five Salesforce advisory and consulting firms. The company expects the combined capabilities to drive faster innovation, stronger customer outcomes, and sustained growth in its global Salesforce services business.
