A large number of PC gamers from across Maharashtra took centre stage on April 26 & 27, 2014, at Viviana Mall, the biggest mall in Thane district, situated in the outskirts of Mumbai. As many as 135 teams turned up to display their gaming skill sets and acumen at the mall, wherein 80 teams played Counter Strike (CS) 1.6, and 55 teams played Dota 2.
The gamers were vying for the Mumbai Electronic Sports Championship (MESC) 2014. The event was organized by Cyber Gaming Community (CGC), a major Indian gaming event management company.
Sunil Grewal, Director – Sales, GIGABYTE Technology (India), said, “GIGABYTE is consistently looking for opportunities to promote the e-Sports culture in India, being a world leader in premium gaming motherboards. The MESC Gaming event provided us with a first-class platform to interact with gaming enthusiasts.”
In the recent past, GIGABYTE India has been associated with the leading gaming events such as BYOC and World Cyber Games (WCG) – India Final. The company has been consistently offering support to entities that need technological help as well as sponsorship for holding gaming events. These include IT retail outlets, gaming cafes, and tech colleges (during their tech fests), among others.
