VARINDIA organised the 2nd VARINDIA IT Cup 2012 with much enthusiasm and fanfare, which was played at Infosys Cricket Ground, Infocity, Bhubaneswar. The tournament was supported by STPI, Bhubaneswar as part of IT Promotional activities. IT companies showed overwhelming response for the tournament as 16 units, namely Infosys, TCS, Mahindra Satyam, Exilant, Nethawk/Expo, ESS, Aabsys, Discoverture, Auro In, Data Cube, CSM, SPARC, Afixi and IT Department, Government of Odisha and STPI participated.

Among others, the matches were witnessed by Chief Guest Shri P.K.Jena, IAS, Secretary (IT) & CMD, IDCO, Shri Vishal Dev, IAS, Commissioner, BMC, and Shri Manas Panda, Additional Director, STPI.
All league and quarter-final matches were played on 21st & 22nd January, 2012 abd the terms of Infosys, Aabsys, Discoverture and STPI qualified for semi-final which was held on 26th January, 2012. On the same day, the final match was played between Infosys and STPI, and STPI lifted the Champion trophy for the second time in a row, while Infosys was declared as the runner-up.

The tournament was more than just a match. It also meant team building and recreational extravaganza for the techies. The tournament also saw a live streaming by some of reputed local TV channels of the State.
