Donjin Communication Technology Co. Ltd.
Since its inception in 1993, DONJIN communications has been rapidly making strides. India, where the company has been operation for the last six years, stands high in DONJIN’s scheme of things. Equipped with competent sales and technical personnel to take care of customer’s requirements, DONJIN has also introduced various products in enterprise and VAS sectors which motivate a lot of customers to provide newer and better applications. VARINDIA talked to Hariharan Iyer, Country Head for India and SAARC Region, DONJIN Communication Technology Co. Ltd. to know the latest on the company’s front. Hariharan is responsible for complete Sales and operations of the company for the South Asian region and African sub-continent.
DONJIN offers the highest density on IP on a single platform. It is only CTI company which can provide 100% redundant solution in true sense and not only redundancy just for peripherals. The company was the first to provide the highest density of ports even on a TDM platform.
Hariharan Iyer is of the view that Unified Communications market is definitely picking up in India and corporate are understanding the benefit of Unified communication and how it helps them to grow business. Globally companies have adopted UC long time back and they are already reaping the benefits of the investment made. Hariharan says, “In India, to address this market DONJIN is launching their product EEGOE in the 2nd qtr of 2013 and we expect to drive sizable revenues from this product in 2013.”
Market Plans for India
DONJIN works in two vertical primarily i.e., Enterprise and VAS. In both these segments the company has introduced new products based looking into the market requirements. In the VAS segment it has introduced the complete set of SS7 products including Sigtran. In the enterprise segment DONJIN has introduced new voice processing boards based on our Keygoe SDK as well as high density voice products packed into a single 1U chassis. With these products in addition to the company’s price/ performance ratio should give plenty of opportunities for its customers. “Our overall strategy will be to focus on Enterprise segment and we also understand that enterprise segment is a very competitive segment but our strategies should help us winning this segment,” says Hariharan.
Enviable Position
Donjin’s R&D is one of the finest in the industry and the company continues to invest in R&D to come up with more and better products for its customers at an affordable cost. “We are here to stay for a long term and all our strategies are tuned to the vision of DONJIN of being there for a long term,” says Hariharan.
One of the key distinguishing features of DONJIN is the price / performance ratio. This is in turn means that its customers derive faster ROIs. Coupled with this is the investment protection which comes bundled with all DONJIN products.

What is the roadmap for DONJIN enterprise communication solutions?
As I mentioned above, the challenges of Enterprise market are completely different than that of VAS market. In VAS you talk about Volumes whereas the number of customers in that domain is very little. When it comes to Enterprise, the scenario is exactly opposite. The market is huge, but the individual volume is pretty low. The way to go around in the Enterprise market is channels and that is what exactly DONJIN has done. We with the help of our distributors and in turn our dealers are working with end customers for a complete solution. With the help of our System Integrator partners we integrate the voice solutions like IVR, voice mail, call logging, unified messaging so that the end customers derives maximum benefit and at the same time has a single vendor interface. In the beginning of 2013, DONJIN has launched a new series of analog boards and digital boards which provide multimedia functionality. We are also introducing “Unified Messaging box” in the second quarter of 2013 which will further enhance the current product portfolio.
What are the trend-setters in the enterprise communication solutions?
Enterprise Communication includes the ability to integrate everything on a single platform. We realized this very early and all our product offerings come with this capability. Flexibility and investment protection again are two main aspects of any enterprise solution and today I am not aware of any products other than DONJIN which comply with these requirements.
What is your stand on the impact of 4 G on VAS uptake?
4G is expected to boost the data services in voice domain. By Data, I also include the video which has been talked about for a long time (3G was expected to fill this gap). However it remains to be seen as to how 4G fills out this gap. Majority VAS services are still on 2G and 2.5G. With LTE which has a better integration with existing 3G and 2G, this should definitely give VAS providers an opportunity to come out with newer applications.
