Autodesk has officially launched the ‘BIM Package for Viksit Bharat’, a specialized Building Information Modelling (BIM) solution designed to accelerate the digital transformation of India’s public infrastructure sector. Unveiled during the Viksit Bharat Summit, this strategic offering is aligned with the Government of India’s vision for a ‘Developed India’, focusing on enhancing the efficiency and quality of construction across various public and smart city projects.
The new BIM suite is integrated into Autodesk’s popular tools like Revit and Civil 3D, and has been tailored specifically for Indian standards, including DSR (Delhi Schedule of Rates), IRC (Indian Roads Congress), MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport & Highways), and IRS (Indian Railways Standards). This ensures that engineers, architects, and project planners can achieve faster approvals, maintain regulatory compliance, and execute projects with minimal rework.
“BIM is much more than a design tool - it is the digital backbone of infrastructure delivery. However, BIM adoption in India has often been challenged by the lack of tools aligned with local design codes, construction norms, and workflows. The India-focused solutions are built specifically to address these gaps, simplifying the adoption of BIM at scale and helping stakeholders across the ecosystem deliver better, faster outcomes in line with Indian standards and requirements.” said Alok Sharma, Director, AECO, Autodesk India & SAARC

Autodesk's BIM for India initiative is expected to boost productivity, streamline design workflows, and enhance multi-disciplinary collaboration across infrastructure projects. This is particularly valuable for large-scale urban development programs and smart city initiatives, where digital design and 3D modeling can drastically reduce construction delays and cost overruns.
“India’s infrastructure ambitions are among the most expansive in the world, with large-scale investments underway in urban development, transportation, housing, and industrial corridors. In such a dynamic environment, BIM will continue to play the critical role in enabling precision, efficiency, and transparency for designers and innovators in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations (AECO) segment.” Sharma added.
By deploying the Autodesk BIM Package for Viksit Bharat, the company is contributing to the development of a more digitally-enabled and sustainable construction sector in India. It also positions BIM as a foundational technology for advancing modern, resilient infrastructure in line with national priorities.
With this move, Autodesk reinforces its commitment to empowering Indian professionals with future-ready digital tools that support the country’s infrastructural ambitions under the Viksit Bharat initiative.
