IAMCP India successfully hosted its flagship FY27 kick-off event, Horizon’26 Leadership Connect, uniting over 175 Microsoft partners from India, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The premier summit served as a strategic nexus for the Microsoft ecosystem, focusing on AI-led transformation, collaborative growth, and the expansive opportunities within the South Asian market.
The event featured a formidable roster of Microsoft leadership, including Om Batra, Area Channel Sales Lead India & South Asia; Pooja Madan, SMB Lead India & South Asia; Ajitabh Dwivedi, Area VDS SMB Lead India & South Asia; Prashant Dewangan, Partner Marketing Manager; and Ravi Mittal, Principal Product Manager Lead for Partner Center.
Opening the summit, Neeraj Gargi, President of IAMCP India, unveiled the organization's FY27 roadmap. "Our vision is to build the most vibrant Microsoft partner community in South Asia by enabling growth, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence for every member," Gargi stated, emphasizing strategic priorities such as expanding the regional footprint, enhancing member value, and deepening engagement with Microsoft teams. He spoke about IAMCP’s flagship event Illuminate’ 2027.
The Channel Strategy: Partner Center and Becoming "Customer Zero"
In his keynote address, Om Batra underscored the indispensable role of the partner network in Microsoft's overarching success, detailing heavy investments in co-sell motions and AI capabilities.
Batra delivered a clear operational directive to attendees: "If Outlook is the first application a partner opens every day to check emails, Partner Center should be the second." He further championed the "Customer Zero" philosophy, urging partners to internally adopt Microsoft's AI and Copilot solutions to build firsthand credibility before taking them to market.
Capitalizing on a $12 Billion SMB Market
A defining moment of Horizon'26 was the revelation of the massive scale of the Indian tech landscape. Microsoft insights presented at the event identified a staggering $12 billion SMB opportunity in India, fueled by a base of over 23 million small and medium enterprises.
Highlighting a pivotal shift in channel economics, Batra noted that for every $1 spent on software, partners can generate up to $6 in high-margin services revenue by leveraging AI, security, data modernization, and managed services.
Echoing this sentiment, Pooja Madan emphasized the strategic synergy between the tech giant and its channel network: "IAMCP can turn India SMB momentum into partner-led execution: faster pipeline, higher attach, now."
Unveiling LaunchPad 2.0
To equip partners for this aggressive growth phase, Ajitabh Dwivedi announced the launch of LaunchPad 2.0, an exclusive, execution-driven program for IAMCP members. Designed for partners demonstrating strong technical acumen and active Copilot adoption, the program accelerates business scalability through:
· Microsoft VDS Referrals from upper-medium market accounts.
· Joint Go-to-Market (GTM) execution and co-sell acceleration.
· AI Skilling and advanced capability-building sessions.
· Structured Business Planning aligned with Microsoft VDS teams.
Partner Center Roadmap and PAC Operating Rhythm
Ravi Mittal shared important announcements around strengthening the Partner Center experience and establishing a more structured partner feedback mechanism. Ravi outlined the Partner Center roadmap, including sharper visibility into partner business health, improved co-op management, and tools such as a partner economics modeler to support better planning and execution.
He announced the formation of a Partner Advisory Council (PAC) operating model for IAMCP, designed to convert partner signals into actionable priorities. The PAC will provide a formal channel to listen to partner feedback, prioritize systemic friction points, validate roadmap direction, and close the loop with IAMCP members through a monthly synthesis, quarterly roadmap touchpoints, leadership escalation, and partner close-out communication.
By the close of Horizon'26, IAMCP India reaffirmed its core mission to help channel members Connect, Learn, and Grow, cementing its position as the critical bridge between Microsoft’s AI innovations and regional market execution.
