Raveena Tandon criticized the unauthorized recording of Shraddha Kapoor and Rahul Mody on a flight, calling it a privacy violation, as her remarks reignited social media debate on ethical boundaries for crew and celebrity privacy norms
A video clip featuring actress Shraddha Kapoor and her rumoured boyfriend Rahul Mody, recorded mid-flight by a cabin crew member, has reignited conversations about celebrity privacy. The footage, originally taken in February 2025, resurfaced online this week, drawing sharp criticism from actor Raveena Tandon.
The video shows Kapoor and Mody seated side by side in economy class, casually dressed in matching white shirts and grey trousers. The two were reportedly returning from a wedding in Ahmedabad that they had attended together earlier this year. The clip, shared without their consent, has now gone viral, prompting backlash from several quarters.
Taking to Instagram, Raveena Tandon expressed disapproval over the invasion of privacy, writing, “This is a breach of privacy. The crew should know better than to do this. Consent must be taken. Not expected from crew members to do this.” Her remarks have sparked debate on social media about the ethical responsibilities of airline staff and the boundaries of celebrity scrutiny.
Speculations, spotlight, and privacy concerns
While neither Kapoor nor Mody have publicly confirmed their relationship, speculations have persisted since 2024. Kapoor, in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, hinted at being in a relationship, saying she enjoys quality time with her partner—whether watching movies, dining out, or simply being together.
Rahul Mody, a screenwriter associated with Luv Ranjan’s Luv Films, co-wrote the 2023 romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, which starred Kapoor alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Mody has also been credited with writing other successful Luv Ranjan films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama, its sequel, and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
Kapoor was last seen in Stree 2, opposite Rajkummar Rao. The film continues her association with the horror-comedy franchise, with a third instalment already in development and expected to release in 2027.
The incident once again brings to light the challenges public figures face in safeguarding personal moments amid constant surveillance. As calls grow louder for respecting celebrity privacy, the spotlight is now also on professional ethics across service industries that come in contact with high-profile individuals.
