Citrix Synergy 2018 has kicked off with the presence of 2,500 of dignitaries travelled from across the globe to be part of the annual synergy in the famous, Anaheim Convention Center , which has been buzzing with conversation. The drone overhead captured some great photos, including this one:
The most energetic Citrix President & CEO David Henshall addressed on his vision key note address, the opening keynote session has presented the view of Citrix vision, customer innovation and technology. This is really an eye opening session by delivering the elegant experience and comprehensive security which could help organizations be productive, engage customers, and unlock innovation, which has continued for an hour.
To begin with Mark Ferrer, EVP and chief revenue officer, spoke about the evolution of Citrix products into solution sets that really resonate with customers, partners and employees. Mark introduced CEO David Henshall for a look back at 2017 highlights-including a 122% increase in new patents and an 80% increase in product releases, along with improved quality-and a look ahead to 2018. As Citrix accelerates to cloud and unifies the portfolio, digital transformation is “not just an opportunity, it’s an obligation to our customers,” David said. “And it all starts with you.”
The “Business truly is a team sport and focused on how the future of work to be and explain on how 1:1 ratio of mobile workers to office workers and been observed on how there is dynamic change in the workstyle and performance by employees work in 4+ Locations in a typical day and it is absolutely true that ,to address the growth of MILLENNIALS across the globe and they are the largest portion of the work force today.
Mark then introduced Victor Rodriguez, chief technology officer of Health Choice Network, to share their organization’s journey to the cloud and the close collaboration with Citrix that was necessary to make it successful. Mark also welcomed Maribel Lopez, founder of Lopez Research, to talk about the opportunity we have in front of us and share what she’s been hearing from enterprise customers.
Citrix technology is at the heart of workspace transformation for so many, Maribel explained, and customers need partners to guide them. “You are the front line of change,” she said. “Opportunity is all around you.” And her takeaway on our direction was encouraging: “I see a Citrix that is now playing to win.”
Craig Stilwell, vice president, Worldwide Partner Sales, recognized the first-ever Global Worldwide Partner of the Year, Intra Systems. He also unveiled the new partner incentive program, which you’ll learn more about during the conference and in the coming weeks. It’s all part of the pledge to be your first, best partner that Craig made at Synergy 2017, as well as a commitment to simplify doing business with Citrix. Speaking of simplifying, senior vice president, business strategy, and CMO Tim Minahan revealed the simplified product naming, messaging and positioning that will make the portfolio easier for partners to sell-and for customers to buy.
The observation was, as the enterprises embrace hybrid cloud, SaaS, and web apps, they face challenges ensuring a consistent end user experience, and guaranteeing security and compliance across their SaaS, hybrid, and multi-cloud application delivery environments. Citrix’s differentiated approach to security with secure digital perimeter (SDP) extends the perimeter into the cloud apps and across multiple devices and networks where business is conducted and workers are collaborating.
Citrix Access Control enables IT and the security teams to better control and monitor company data in SaaS and internet applications. This helps strengthen compliance requirements for example, with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), a federal standard to prevent school children or enterprise users from unwittingly visiting malicious websites .

“We’re excited to work with Citrix on their new Workspace offering to save time and improve the experience for mutual customers,” says Jason Mills, Director of Sales and Success at Expensify. “Our joint customers will benefit from a seamless and unified user experience with secure access and SSO to Expensify along with all their other apps.”
Citrix Access Control together with advanced analytics enables IT and security teams to identify and prevent malicious user behavior. With risk indicators and criteria to help detect user anomalies when using SaaS applications, admins can configure the policy controls to quickly identify and alert IT about bad or risky user behavior. This lowers the risk of insider threats and enables IT to deliver a secure digital workspace.
In summary, enterprises have become more susceptible to cyber-security risks as work becomes more distributed and employees use cloud apps without IT’s knowledge and consent. IT is increasingly uncertain about which SaaS and web apps are being accessed, or where sensitive data resides. Citrix Access Control alleviates such cyber-security concerns; it provides IT and security teams with policy controls they never had before for managing the access and use of SaaS, web and the internet sites.
Give employees the freedom to work from anywhere while cutting IT costs. Increase employee productivity on BYO or corporate devices and provide end-to-end, enterprise-grade mobile device security for smartphones, tablets and laptops to deliver digital workspaces with an integrated approach that unifies virtual apps, desktops, data, device management, and networking on any cloud or infrastructure. Sessions cover the benefits of a cloud-first approach, and how to leverage hybrid models to migrate at your own pace with a strategy that meets the needs of today and confidently scales for the future.
