The company secured a 21.3% share of overall PC shipments during the quarter while strengthening its leadership in education and government segments, according to the latest IDC India Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker.
Acer India has emerged as the second-largest PC vendor in the country by shipments during the first quarter of 2026, according to the latest findings from IDC’s India Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker. The company captured a 21.3% share of the overall PC market, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey and reinforcing its position among the leading technology brands in India.
The strong performance was supported by robust demand across both consumer and institutional segments, with Acer recording notable gains in education, government and commercial deployments.
Strong performance across education and government segments
Acer maintained a dominant position in the education sector, securing the top rank in the Desktop, Notebook and Workstation category with a market share of 62.1%. The company also led the government segment in the same category, capturing a 37.1% share of shipments.
In desktop deployments, Acer continued to strengthen its presence among institutional customers. The company ranked first in education desktops with a 56.99% market share and also topped the government desktop segment with a 40.85% share.
The notebook category also contributed significantly to the company’s performance. Acer secured the No. 1 position in education notebooks with a 63.7% market share, reflecting increasing technology adoption and large-scale deployments across educational institutions. In the government notebook segment, the company ranked second with a market share of 33.63%.
