Acer tops Notebook segment globally: Gartner

According to the recent report from Gartner, Acer has been progressively gaining grounds to become the No.1 notebook vendor with a market share of 15.35 per cent in the second quarter of 2012 worldwide.

 

In India too, the company has gained its momentum and bounced back to the No. 2 position with 13.4 per cent market share in the total PC market. The sources also revealed that Acer India’s leadership position as the No.1 player in the desktop category has helped the company to establish and regain its foothold in the AMJ quarter of 2012.

 

Harish Kohli, MD, Acer India said, “Through our continuous effort and focused approach we aim to grow at 25% this year and make a significant penetration into categories such as consumer, retail, government, corporate and education. We are optimistic about the future of the PC market and will continue to remain committed to innovation.”
