At Adobe MAX 2025, Adobe and YouTube announced a strategic partnership aimed at transforming short-form content creation through a new feature called Create for YouTube Shorts, soon to be available within Adobe Premiere mobile. The collaboration brings Adobe’s professional-grade video editing tools directly to YouTube Shorts creators, making it easier to produce, edit, and publish high-quality videos from mobile devices.
Seamless integration for mobile creators
The new experience will integrate YouTube Shorts directly into Adobe Premiere mobile, allowing creators to tap an “Edit in Adobe Premiere” icon within YouTube to launch editing tools instantly. Through this collaboration, users will gain access to exclusive templates, transitions, effects, and title presets specifically optimized for short-form content. The platform will also support instant publishing to YouTube Shorts, enabling faster content turnaround for creators and influencers.
Adobe’s Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Digital Media, Ely Greenfield, said the partnership empowers creators to share their stories more effectively. “YouTube Shorts has become the ultimate launchpad for creators. By bringing Adobe Premiere mobile’s professional-grade tools to this audience, we’re helping them create outstanding content and reach new viewers,” he said.
Expanding creative possibilities
YouTube’s Vice President of Engineering, Scott Silver, emphasized that the partnership aligns with YouTube’s mission to simplify storytelling. “We want to meet creators where they are. Integrating YouTube Shorts with Premiere mobile gives them even more editing options to connect with audiences worldwide,” he added.
The Create for YouTube Shorts feature will offer creators the ability to customize templates, design and share their own editing styles, and collaborate through shared content trends. In addition, users will benefit from Adobe’s advanced editing features, including Firefly-powered AI tools, Generative Sound Effects, and professional audio-video enhancements previously reserved for desktop applications.
Originally launched in September, Adobe Premiere mobile was designed to bring the company’s renowned editing technology to a new generation of mobile-first creators. The upcoming Create for YouTube Shorts integration marks a major step in uniting the creative power of Adobe with YouTube’s global short-form video community.
