The global software major will provide free access to its AI-powered creative and productivity applications to students across accredited Indian institutions, supporting government skilling goals and boosting readiness for AI-driven careers in emerging sectors.
Adobe unveiled a major initiative to expand access to AI-powered creative tools for students across India at the recent India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The company announced that it will provide free access to its flagship applications—including Firefly, Photoshop and Acrobat—to learners through accredited higher education institutions.
The move is aimed at preparing students for AI-first careers by equipping them with industry-standard tools, structured curriculum, training modules and professional credentials. Adobe said the initiative is designed to help young creators build skills in content development, design, communication and digital productivity.
Aligning with India’s skilling vision
Adobe’s announcement aligns with the Government of India’s broader “Create in India” push and complements the Union Budget 2026 focus on expanding employment opportunities in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC). The company plans to work alongside government bodies to extend its AI-led offerings to thousands of schools and colleges that are expected to establish Content Creator Labs.
Chair and CEO Shantanu Narayen said the initiative aims to expand creative opportunities for millions of Indian students and accelerate the country’s digital growth ambitions. He noted that access to advanced AI tools can help students stand out in competitive global markets.
Adobe’s generative AI platform, Firefly, will enable students to create commercially safe AI-generated content while offering flexibility to integrate multiple AI models. Acrobat Pro will further support productivity, collaboration and document management, making it easier for students to complete academic and professional projects.
Expanding the AI learning ecosystem
As part of its broader skilling push, Adobe India has partnered with NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime, a digital learning initiative supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The collaboration will offer free, industry-relevant courses and certifications to learners nationwide.
The programme is expected to benefit students pursuing careers in graphic design, animation, gaming, marketing, ecommerce, media and technology—sectors witnessing rapid AI-driven transformation.
During the summit, Adobe also showcased “Kathāvatār,” a collection of short AI films inspired by Indian folklore, developed in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The company said students can access the new AI toolkit through participating accredited institutions across the country.
