Air India is enhancing its customer service capabilities by integrating GPT-4, a state-of-the-art language model, to power its virtual assistant. This strategic move aims to provide a more seamless and efficient customer experience.
AirIndia is using OpenAI’s most advanced Large Language Model (LLM) GPT-4 to power its virtual assistant. Earlier this year, Air India CEO Campbell Wilson stressed the carrier’s desire to leverage GPT-4.
The airline company was first using GPT3.5 and has now transitioned to GPT-4. Last year, Air India announced that it would be implementing a Generative AI virtual agent, dubbed ‘Maharaja,’ leveraging Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI service.
GPT-4’s advanced NLP capabilities allow the virtual assistant to understand and respond to customer inquiries with high accuracy and relevance. It can comprehend and process natural language queries, making interactions more intuitive and human-like.
The virtual assistant will be available round-the-clock, providing customers with immediate assistance regardless of the time or their location. This ensures that passengers can access support anytime they need it, enhancing convenience and satisfaction.
The virtual assistant is equipped with extensive information about Air India’s services, policies, flight schedules, and more. Customers can get quick answers to a wide range of questions, from baggage policies to in-flight services.
GPT-4 supports multiple languages, enabling the virtual assistant to assist a diverse customer base in their preferred language. This feature is particularly beneficial for an international airline like Air India, catering to passengers from various linguistic backgrounds.
Air India’s decision to power its virtual assistant with GPT-4 represents a significant advancement in its customer service strategy. By leveraging the advanced capabilities of GPT-4, Air India aims to provide superior, personalized, and efficient service to its passengers. This integration not only improves the customer experience but also positions Air India as a forward-thinking airline committed to harnessing cutting-edge technology to meet and exceed passenger expectations.
