Q: How do AMD's latest processors align with industry trends such as cloud computing, edge computing, and the growth of AI and machine learning workloads?
A: We have made this generation for the processor family to really adapt to what is required by the market. Our family is covering the complete scale of requirements from hyperscalers to edge computing, allowing for very high dense compute farms and power-efficient solutions to address different use cases like 5G core radio access networks (RAN) and distributed AI capabilities on the edge.
Q: How does AMD's latest processor series address the evolving needs of data centers and enterprise computing?
A: Our architecture is shining in this aspect. We've taken a different architecture approach to be much more power-efficient, doubling the number of cores while reducing power consumption. This translates to higher performance for lower power, meeting the needs of hyperscalers and providing power efficiency for various applications.
Q: What is AMD's prospect on data centers, and how does it align with the Make in India policies?
A:Data centers are a key market for AMD. The 4th generation EPYC family is crucial, addressing power efficiency, performance, and making a big differentiation. In terms of Make in India, we're addressing it from both top to bottom – sharing technology platforms with the government and working with local partners to understand our broad portfolio, contributing to the local ecosystem.
Q: What are the key features and technical specifications of the AMD EPYC 8004 series processors, and how do they compare to the previous generation?
A: The 8004 series, code-named Siena, targets Edge Compute and the vRAN market. It offers unparalleled performance per watt, providing high compute performance in a low power envelope. With 64 high-performance x86 cores within 200 watts, extensive IO options, and high memory bandwidth, it's a significant advancement compared to the previous generation.
Q: Why did you choose IMC as a platform to introduce and pitch to India for the processors?
A: India is a growing and large market. It's important for us to ensure India has access to the latest technology. We're actively working with local partners to make the EPYC Gen 4 family available in India, supporting the country's technological growth, and aligning with the Make in India initiative.
Q: What is your message for the market?
A: AMD is not just a technology platform; we're building and enabling an ecosystem. In India, especially with the Make in India push, our large local ecosystem allows us to provide solutions through partners, addressing the unique needs of the Indian market.
