
Tata AIG General Insurance Company has appointed Anjani Kumar as Chief Technology Officer and executive vice president. Kumar joins from Strides, a pharmaceutical company, where he served as chief information officer (CIO) for over three years driving the company’s digital agenda.
In a career spanning 24 years, he has served in IT consulting, telecom, automobile, logistics, and pharmaceutical industries. Kumar will be tasked with driving the company’s digital agenda across B2C, B2B as well as, hybrid global enterprises, the company said in a statement.
Besides Strides, Kumar’s career spans extensive experience including strategy and operations at Nissan, and Safexpress, as well as, management of P&L for products and services at IBM and Collabera.
"Anjani’s appointment comes at a crucial time as we undergo a digital business transformation at Tata AIG. His extensive experience and expertise will be invaluable in driving our digital agenda. We look forward to his contributions in advancing our technology capabilities and improving our customer experiences across the entire value chain," said Jitesh Bawa, CHRO, Tata AIG.
Kumar holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, and a Postgraduate Executive Management Program in Marketing and Management from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
