Apple and Sony are in talks to combine the power of Vision Pro with the PSVR2 controller. Apple is reportedly said to be working on adding PSVR2 controller support for the Vision Pro and would even begin selling the controllers in its stores. This development comes as a result of Sony working on adding PSVR2 controller support for the Vision Pro. Apple has also brought to the notice of developers about this potential collaboration.
The move is seen to be a part of a broader strategy to attract more games and developers to the Vision Pro ecosystem, aiming to make the headset more appealing to gamers and developers alike.
Currently, traditional game controllers from Xbox and PlayStation work with the Vision Pro but are limited to Apple Arcade titles. By expanding support to VR-specific controllers could pave the way for immersive gameplay experiences.
By incorporating these devices, Apple hopes to complement the headset’s existing eye-and-hand tracking capabilities, enticing developers to create games and applications tailored to its unique features.
Apple is also said to be engaging with third-party developers to bring more VR games to its platform, even offering controller support as a selling point. There’s also speculation that Apple might provide funding to kickstart the development of new programmes for the Vision Pro, further solidifying its commitment to enriching the device’s ecosystem.
