Apple is expanding its Self Service Repair program to more of its devices and countries. Additionally, it is also introducing a new diagnostic tool that allows users to troubleshoot issues with more transparency and autonomy. The Self Service Repair program was initially launched for customers in the United States in 2022, before it was extended to the United Kingdom and seven other European countries. Now, the program has been expanded to an additional 24 European countries, including Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, and Switzerland.
With this expansion, Self Service Repair is now available in 33 countries and 24 languages.
Access to Self Service Repair is now available for iPhone 15 models and Mac models equipped with the M2 lineup, encompassing the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro, the 15-inch MacBook Air, Mac mini, Mac Pro, and Mac Studio. This extends the coverage of Self Service Repair to a total of 35 Apple products.
Apple has also unveiled a new diagnostics app called "Apple Diagnostics for Self Service Repair" in the United States, with availability for customers in Europe slated for next year. Through Apple Diagnostics, users can assess their devices for optimal part functionality and performance, identifying any parts that may require repair. This empowers customers with the same troubleshooting capabilities as Apple Authorized Service Providers and Independent Repair Providers.
Self Service Repair grants individuals with expertise in electronic device repair access to genuine Apple parts, manuals, and tools used at Apple Store and Apple Authorized Service Provider locations.
